Understand medical care expense division in child support orders
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Child Support on Friday, May 1, 2020. Raising a child is costly, so when parents split up, one parent shouldn’t be left trying to cover all the expenses. This is why child support orders are put into place when the parents aren’t in a relationship. The order will cover regular payments from one parent to the other. It also governs things like who pays for school expenses, health insurance and related costs. It is imperative that both parents fully understand the terms of the child support order. There’s a chance that
Know what factors impact property division agreements
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Divorce on Friday, April 17, 2020. The property division process that occurs during a divorce can be relatively simple for people who don’t have considerable assets. For those who do have a lot of assets, the split can be rather complicated. Anyone who’s going through a divorce should ensure that they’re prepared for this process. One of the most important things for you to do is to know exactly what needs to be divided. As part of the divorce filing, you’ll have to fill out a document that asks about the
Help your children build a relationship with their other parent
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Child Custody on Friday, April 3, 2020. Some children who have divorced parents spend a lot more time with one parent than the other. No matter what type of relationship you have with your ex, you need to be willing to look past the issues between you and them. Your focus right now must
Prenups can help people of all wealth levels
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in Divorce on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. When people in Missouri decide to marry, they may worry they will spoil the excitement by asking about a prenuptial agreement. However, as people marry later in life with business plans, children and existing careers, there are many reasons why prenups can be a good choice for almost anyone. A prenuptial agreement lays out financial understandings about how a couple would divide their assets in case of a divorce and, in some cases,

Research shows fathers receive preference in child custody cases
On behalf of Stange Law Firm, PC posted in fathers’ rights on Monday, March 9, 2020. It might surprise some Illinois residents that research has found, when it comes to child custody cases, even in situations where abuse is alleged, fathers are given preference over mothers. This goes against the popular belief that mothers are given preference in child custody battles. The research, completed by a George Washington University Law School professor, shows this to be particularly true when parental alienation is claimed by the father and abuse by the mother. According to the findings, only 1 in 51 cases like this are substantiated
